Step 1: The variable plh0012_h is replaced by the variable plh0012_v6 for the years 1994 to 2022. Step 2: The variable plh0012_v7 is recoded (1=1) (3=13) (5=4) (6=5) (7=8) for the years 1986 to 1988 and subsequently integrated into the harmonized variable plh0012_h. Step 3: The variable plh0012_v1 is recoded (1=1) (2=2) (3=13) (4=3)(5=4)(6=5)(7=8) for the years 1984 to 1989 and subsequently integrated into the harmonized variable plh0012_h, if plh0012_v7 is not included in that version of the questionnaire or plh0012_v7 was not included in the survey program that year.
